From June 28 to July 1 and is' held in York (UK), the ninth edition of the International Conference Toward
carfree Cities
(www.worldcarfree.net/conference/). The conference, organized annually by the World carfree network
(www.worldcarfree.net) collects
esperti, professionisti e attivisti da tutto il mondo ed e’ dedicata a
condividere ricerche ed esperienze e promuovere alternative piu’
sostenibili all’utilizzo dell’automobile. Hanno partecipato persone da
tutti i continenti: oltre all’europa era rappresentata la Turchia, il
Messico, il Sud Africa, l’ Australia, gli Stati Uniti.
Per l’Italia ha partecipato Massimiliano Amirfeiz, membro del World
CarFree Network e del WWF sezione Liguria, con una presentazione dal
titolo “Improving cycling mobility in hilly cities with folding
bikes”, portando nuovamente in un contesto internazionale, l’idea
tutta genovese della "Intermodal bicycle." The presentation
found much interest and there have been many requests for

This year's conference theme was "How Do We Get There?" and you
and 'concentrated on how to bring to life the community carfree,
considering a range of strategies by temporary events, alla

europei di sviluppo carfree. Nel corso della conferenza e’ stato
organizzato uno street party, ovvero e’ stata convertita una strada
molto trafficata, in area pedonale, con grande partecipazione di

guardando a come la città medievale pedonale è stata organizzata nello
spazio, e come gli stessi principi potrebbero essere applicati ai
futuri insediamenti. Sono state esaminate le principali sfide per
favorire l’accettabilità politica e pubblica per le misure di
riduzione dell’uso dell’automobile,
